 This Genuine BMW tool is purpose built for torquing the spark plugs on the N5 2 and N5 4 engine to precisely the right torque spec. This ensures you will not over or under tighten the spark plugs on the E9 0/E9 2 3 series or 2006+ E6 0 5 series 6 cylinder engine. This adapter has standard 3/8" drive receivers on it, so you can use it in line with the BMW spark plug socket (part# 83300495560) and tighten until you hear the "click" , which lets you know you have applied just the right amount of torque (23nm). In addition to the special spark plug socket, we also recommend the Spark Plug Install Tool (part# 83300496065) which allows the spark plug to be lowered into the spark plug port of the head and aligned into the spark plug hole.
